"It is the journey not the arrival that matters"- however first we must pack.

Okay so i realise that lately i have neglected by blogging duties a little to say the least...so in order to change this i have decided to use this space to ramble on for a short while (afterall isnt that the point of a blog?) I apologise in advance.

Packing- the enemy of many a traveller. Lets face it no-one enjoys this hiddeously tedious task, however like many a thing, it must be done.

Next week I am off to America for 3 months to work on a summer camp, then hopefully travel after. As my departure date draws ever closer the invetable need to pack grows, as does my will power to procrastinate.

Unfortunately in this case my usual approach to this task (putting in everything i own with the attitude you never know when you may need *insert usless object*) is not viable for two main reasons.

You never know...No?

Firstly as it was suggested i didnt take a suitcase but instead a large backpack and secondly im guessing that carrying around half of my wardrobe with me for 3 weeks after wont exactly do wonders for my posture.

Okay so as i write this i realise i am perhaps 'making a mountain out of a mole hill', and should just get it over and done with. euuuggghh

Now i must decide what i actually need to take. For anyone who knows me minimalism isnt usually a word chosen to describe my character, it is safe to say clutter folllows me around. I also have a slight issue with being unable to make decisions and at times being 'too relaxed'.

Thankfully my friend has agreed to help me with this and promises to rule with an iron fist there is a reason she studies law.

Okay i think i wittered on for quite long enough now and have thankfully came to one conclusion. A list is needed.

I am of to conquer my fears. My wardrobe wont realise whats hit it. Packing, Bring.It.On.

The Need To Post...

It's like an illness I swear.

Every time I think something or do something or buy something, the verb "blog" is thrown around my brain.

"To blog"

Anywho I have a half-arsed soggy paper excuse for it. CAMERA-LESS. Pathetic I know. But without the visuals the inspiration is just lacking.

Hoorah for my birthday. I am hopefully getting a DSLR (obviously not as a birthday pressie jheeeze...I have been saving for 2 years too!) but am stuck with knowing which one to get...

Any help would be great!

SO

1. Look out for upcoming posts after the embarrassing lack of them in the past bazillion years. For this I am entirely blaming Elizabeth. Sket.

2. I am setting up an online store, when I actually have something to show for it I will post it on here :)

3. Although I'm pretty sure it's not real...I would buy all the teacups in China for it (?)

"If the shoe doesn't fit, must we change the foot?" - Gloria Steinem

I have recently had a huuuuge wardrobe ..ermm...alteration.

Resulting in this...

.............

naaaaaaaaaaaaaat really
Anyway..
There are several points through a woman's (and I'm sure many a man's) life when they suddenly have the realisation that they have no clothes.
Well, not clothes that fit/are in season/are actually ok to be worn out side of dwellings.

It took about 3 days to finally have a wardrobe that I like.

There are bin bags, charity bags, piles upon piles. But it is all done. Yet now it is so empty I only have about three outfits. Exaggeration?  Maybe.
I need to start getting rid of my tatty bargain shizzy stuff and start investing in good, long lasting, forever pieces.

It's QUALITY not QUANTITY

So, I need to rebuild. And to start with...
Shoes.

HERVÉ LÉGER

Olechka leather ankle boots

£260.00 - theoutnet.com

Zara WIDE HEEL FABRIC SANDAL

£59.99 - zara.com

SAM EDELMAN
'Kellan' wedge

I think I need all of them. Just need to chat up/date/marry/kill off some old rich man first.

Lazily Blogging...

Finishing uni for summer is great an' all, but when there is no other human being of a similar age or interest it can slowly become stale.
After the hectic previous few weeks of hand in dates, I have taken rather comfiley really comfy comfely (is this a real word?) to laziness. I fear this will not bode well for any future work.

So anywho, this is just a little something to keep me occupied.
The "Here & Now" colour palette.

No matter how hard I try to stay away from the whole "Topshop regurgitation" look, I can't help but realise how fabbydabby and bang on trend they always manage to be.

 Bikini - £26.50
Fringed bag - £35

Stripped blazer - £65

 Skinnies - £40
Pumps - £16

I must not tell a lie, this was a very lazy blog post. But I loved the clothes so pfft.

Not today.

Brown & Blue

I first noticed Kate Bosworth for her promotional material for Coach. I love this brand and she showed the brand image perfectly. Elegant and totally non tacky. No hair extensions or tango tan on this girl!

My hole in the wall walk in wardrobe is colour coded. This is the dream! Love the suitcases...

Such a British country look! Loves it. Forever fashion.

Also she has one brown eye and one blue. Amazing. I now need some lace gloves. I had some but I got juice all on them. Ow maan.

They think its all over...It is now.

After many weeks of the ongoing John Galliano saga, and the alligations made against him, it was officially anounced yesterday that the designer had been sacked from his eponymous label, following a decision made by the company's board. Unsurprisingly this has yet again sparked more controversy within both the world of fashion and else where, with many people (including my self) now questioning whether this latest 'relief or responsibilities' was truly neccessary, or whether it was just another attempt at making the world of fashion appear to have a soul.

It is believed that the fashion house will now hand the designers responsibilites over to his in house creative team. Although Christian Dior SA currently owns 91 per cent of John Galliano there are yet no plans to sell the brand- according to reports by WWD.

John Galliano Sacked - John Galliano Arrested Update

Earlier this week the designer was photographed at LAX airport after returning from over a month in  rehab. After this latest story I cant help but ask what comes next for this iconic man, and more importantly what next for the world of fashion?

The Fur Debate

Personally, the subject of fur is a touchy one. Literally. Before I was fully aware of the horror that goes into making a fur coat, I loved the feel, the texture and the colour. Yet, now my opinion of wearing fur couldn't be more opposed...

For uni, we had to create a video showing our thoughts on a contentious issue. As a group, we decided upon fur. Some of us were for, some against, and some (i.e me) were undecided.

Below is the final video...be aware, there are some grusome truths...

Hope you like it! Took us like forever to finish, although it was suprisingly easy to create. If you're pro fur, I'd be weirded out suprised if this didn't make you reconsider..
